Amrita Rao

Amrita Rao’s image makeover

Amrita RaoAmrita
Rao has turned over a new leaf. The actress with the girl next door
image is going for a serious image makeover and is making heads swivel
with her new hot and happening image. She was recently spotted walking
the ramp in a fashion show, and guess what she was wearing? A backless
outfit which had the male audience cheering wildly. Now the big question
that arises… is her makeover here to stay?

Amrita Rao’s going wild and free…

Amrita RaoYou
might think she’s mommy’s girl, but Amrita Rao loves being by herself,
too. “I loved the feeling of independence; when I was in US recently. I
realised how much I value it. I love the feeling of being able to walk
on the streets freely on my own, travel to any place I want to, dress up
just the way I want, without worrying about who’s watching me or what
will they think about me. I guess that’s what I enjoy the most when I go
abroad. That does not mean I don’t like my friends and family around.
They are an important part of my life,” she says. Well dear, this is
just a small price to pay for being a star.

Amrita Rao spends a quiet birthday

Amrita RaoAmrita
Rao spent a quiet birthday this year by visiting Shirdi with her uncle
and his family. So no party, no merry-making? “For me, being with my
family and praying for what I have is far more important than looking
out for a good time,” said the svelte actress, who turned 26 two days
back. “But yes, I got more SMS, and calls to wish me on this birthday
than ever before, thanks to Vivah. The whole day I was busy replying to
the messages and greetings.” Amrita has just completed a Telugu film.
“It’s titled Athidi. I’m paired opposite Namrata Shirodkar’s husband
Mahesh Babu who’s the biggest star of Telugu cinema.”

Post her charismatic performance in Sooraj Barjatya’s hit 2006 film
Vivah, Amrita has been looking for the right roles. “Language is no
barrier. The important thing is to do work that will take me beyond
Vivah.”

Amrita Rao: Lost in transit?

Amrita RaoShe
has been travelling so much that she seems a little lost these days. To
make matters worse, recently when she was in the US, for a fashion show,
Amrita Rao lost her cell-phone and no one could connect with her. “It
was a huge problem for me. It’s a long story. I was in New York and
Atlanta - both of which are fun cities. I didn’t get to party or gamble…
I didn’t have any time. I’ve realised that you can’t visit New York for
such a short time to enjoy; you have to stay there and soak in the
spirit of the city. The next time around, I am sure I’ll hang on for
longer. And stay connected, too,” says Amrita. Well girl, the next time
you’re lost…we hope you’re lost with that someone special. Good idea,
right? But till then we hope you don’t lose to many things.

Amrita Rao loves America!

Amrita RaoAfter
a month-long vacation in the US, Amrita Rao is back to the heat and dust
of Mumbai. She was out with her family to attend a wedding and to travel
around America; it was her first trip to that part of the world, so she
was doubly excited. The gal is completely overawed by that country, and
she can’t stop raving about it. Of course, catching her on the phone is
dicey now; with a jet-lag you don’t know when she’s in bed and when
she’s out of it. And it’s always great to be back in your own cosy bed
back home. We’re sure she’s been missing all the action in tinsel town,
too. Well, girl wake up quick, there’s lot of gupshup for you to catch
up with!
